5 Tips for Betting on PGA Golf

As KrackWins members know, golf wagering has been very good to my bankroll. Over the past 15 years, head to head golf matchups have been one of, if not the most, profitable wager I make. You will not find a better golf picks record anywhere. Period.

My golf handicap team is unmatched around the world in terms of course and player knowledge and insight. Below are my 5 tips for betting on the PGA this season.

Betting Tip #1

Always Look for That 10 Cent Line.

When betting head to head golf matchups, always look for that ten cent line (-110), i.e. an even matchup. As you know, books have widened their margins over the years on every sport and golf is no different. The best you may find on matchups is -115 or even -120 at some places. Always remember to have as many outs as possible and shop for the best line. Though a nickel here or there on a play may not seem like a lot, in the long run, getting the best price will make a big difference to your bottom line for the year. Justin Rose -125 over Tiger Woods in a matchup when it is -150 elsewhere doesn’t seem like much, but these are the margins we have to try to improve over the course of the long term grind.

Betting Tip #2

Bankroll Management is Crucial.

Staying disciplined is always key when betting sports – and betting on golf is no different. Betting on golf may seem simple but there are a lot of different options that bettors should understand. If you are playing matchups and futures you need to bet different amounts. I personally suggest 1.5-1.75% of your bankroll on matchups and .5-.75% on “To Win” and Top 5 or 10 bets.

Betting Tip #3

Consider Course History and Weather Conditions.

Course History is a huge indicator in any event, but even more so at the Masters. Look for players who’ve had some level of past success on this course rather than solely on who’s currently in the World Rankings Top 10. The type of course and expected weather conditions are key factors in analyzing what to play. We examine a player’s history at a particular course as well as how they have fared at courses with similar layouts in the past.

Betting Tip #4

Pay Attention to a Player’s Recent Form.

A player’s recent form should be used for golf betting no matter the tournament. Golf is truly a sport in which the athletes run hot and cold. Keep an eye on the guys who are coming into a tournament on a rise or currently struggling. Like baseball teams, we find that golfers can be very streaky, so we focus our analysis on players that have been falling off/honed-in during the previous few events. Each week my team creates players ratings that, depending on the opening line, are either a “play for” or a “play against”. We then look for possible matchups where a “play for” is matched up versus a “play against”. These are my strongest matchups.

Betting Tip #5

Seek a Professional Edge.

The KrackWins advantage runs from the first PGA Tournament tee off to the last. So, let us do the hard work for you as we build our bankroll this golf season. The KrackWins team researches for hours each day to come up with our golf picks. Stay disciplined and remember that it is a marathon not a sprint. Strap in for another exciting professional golf season and enjoy the ride!

With that said, best of luck, enjoy the PGA and thank you for being a part of KrackWins Nation.
