As if the Super Bowl had not already risen to the peak of the American zeitgeist and become the very symbol of excess, the NFL has found a way to add even more glitz – have Las Vegas host the game. This city already bursts at the seems for the Big Game and that’s when it is taking place thousands of miles away. With the game kicking off in Allegiant Stadium and even the Swifties having a reason to pay attention, Las Vegas may simultaneously combust. With so many states taking on legal sports wagering, experts are predicting that the amount of action on this game will top the volume for any one sporting event…ever.
While we have already sent out our play on the side, we will have 10x that many plays on proposition bets. As KrackWins members know, NFL prop bets have been very good to us at the Super Bowl over the years. Winning prop bets is about good information, research and analysis and that’s where my team excels. We siphon through the hundreds of available bets and find the ones with the best value. It’s hard enough for the books to get a side or total right every time, much less a hundred different prop lines. As a general strategy, Joe Public leans towards betting overs. Their brain sees “Patrick Mahomes 1.5 TD passes” and they immediately think “Oh, it has to go over that.” That tendency leads to the more popular props usually being a touch overvalued. As such, I usually will be an under prop later in the week once the number has reached its peak.

As for the game itself, while I am not the biggest fan of team rematches, I think we are in for a classic. The line has moved a lot with back and forth action, but no matter where it ends up, you wont find too many folks who don’t think this will be a great game. On one side you have a QB who most say is close (if not there) to Brady GOAT status. On the other side, we have in Brock Purdy a guy who was the last pick in the draft and was almost cut in the preseason last year to make space on the roster. Either way, Las Vegas will be painted red for the next 10 days.
As for the week that was, it was another winning week for KrackWins Nation. The NBA Props continue to lead the way (and continue to dominate) going 11-5 (+5.1 units.) NCABB went 6-6 (-1.1 units) and the sole PGA play was a winner (+1.7.) We came oh so close to winning our Ravens to Win the AFC Future (at +1100) but the Ravens decided before the game that running the ball was overrated – running their RBs six times total (-2 units.) The good news is that when hedging back on the Chiefs to win for 20% of the future play at +190, we ended up with a very nice +5.3 unit profit overall. The NFL props/sides/totals for the championship games went 6-4 (+1.3 units.) Overall KrackWins went 24-15, for a very pleasing +12.3 unit week. While the last football game of the year is of course just days away, there more than enough other sports to keep us busy. College Hoops heads down the closing stretch and into March Madness.
