As soon as the red wave left Las Vegas, that cold hard reality set in…football season was no more. No more pigskin to fill our Saturdays and Sundays and get us through the workday on Monday. College basketball fans peer ahead to tournament season in March. The NBA season hits the All-Star Break and teams head into the post-break positioning themselves for seeding, both in the playoffs and the draft. Having to wait six plus months for football to return can make any avid sports bettors feel empty. Don’t worry, we are here for you. Before we look ahead, let’s look back to the Big Game. Amazingly, with around a dozen bets, we basically broke even on the game. The props were underwhelming, going 6-8 (-3.1u) and we lost our longshot, yet we cashed in the Chiefs ML +110/+115 and the Over 3rd quarter bet (2-0 +2.9u). Let’s face it, the Super Bowl use to be a much more beatable market. Now, sportsbooks open up props two weeks before days before the game, with minimal limits. This causes every available prop line to be ironed out. The novelty props brought with them tons of controversy (as I have warned to look out for.) Books graded Reba McIntyre’s over/under national anthem time differently as she sang the last word twice. The Gatorade bath didn’t take place until Coach Reid was about to take the podium, making the +1200 “No Dump” bettors who were already counting their winnings weep.

With the All-Star break this weekend, we’ve had the best 1st half of an NBA season in over 20 years, hitting NBA props at a ridiculous 65.7% rate, including 13-7 (+5.2 units) the last two weeks. We have needed that in the face of our struggling NCAAB 10-15 (-8.2 units) the last two weeks. Thankfully, March Madness, which we have crushed the last couple of years, is only about a month away. In addition, the PGA tour really starts to pick up the next few weeks as we inch closer to The Masters. We have started off the season conservatively, going 2-0 the last two tournaments (+3 units.) We have two PGA matchups pending this week and will start to increase the volume steadily as we move into Spring.
