Me and Jon Orlando are back for another round of Wise Kracks sports betting podcast action. This past week marked one of the craziest of this year’s sportsbook betting, and we don’t waste any time diving into all that went down. Last minute changes to the NFL schedule. Teams scrambling to field enough players as the pandemic wages havoc on starting rosters. And wide receivers starting at QB?! It’s a wild week in review.
We kick it off with the Mike Tyson – Roy Jones Jr. exhibition bout. I feel the ‘books should have refunded anyone who put money down on the fight. I discuss the perils of the fight game and how promoters take advantage of fighters in their prime.
Team Wise Kracks looks back at Week 12 in the NFL, which featured some of the craziest finishes and outrageous stats seen in years. Mahomes and Chiefs lit up Brady and the Bucs, with Tyreek Hill putting up an unbelievable 261 receiving yards and three touchdowns. I lost a couple grand betting against Mahomes, but still had an epic sportsbook week despite losing on NFL totals.
We discuss the Monday Night game – where the Eagles covered the spread, but cost a billion dollars in swing. I dive into the analytics of going for two when down by 14. I’m also super excited by the expanded NFL playoff format, knowing I’ll have more possible prop bets on offer.
We sit down with legendary sportsbook manager, Jimmy Vaccaro, to chat the history and future of sportsbook betting in America. Hand picked by Steve Wynn to open the Mirage in 1989, Jimmy helped change the face of the Las Vegas Strip forever.
Week 13 NFL Look Ahead
Jon throws up his Week 13 NFL picks for me to assess: Jacksonville over the Vikings – moneyline, the Raiders and the points over the winless Jets. He wraps up with his “street cred” pick, taking the Falcons moneyline over the Saints.
