It’s easy to lose yourself in this business. The calendar keeps flipping and the grind never takes a day off. There is always another game, another line to analyze. Once the confetti hits the ground celebrating a champion in one sport, another sport is set to begin.
The action never stops, and the second you slow down, is the moment you get left behind. Now that I have not only myself/my family to think about, but the entire KrackWins Nation, there aren’t really days off. I wouldn’t have it any other way. That said, ever since I was young, there was one day that sports took a backseat – Thanksgiving. I know in today’s world, Thanksgiving equals football, food and family (unfortunately in that order). But not in my house. After everyone stuffed themselves on mom’s antipasti and stuffed mushrooms, we would all sit together, listen to holiday music and laugh. Sure we could have turned on the TV and caught the Cowboys and Lions, and believe me, there were plenty of times I wanted to. But that’s not what Mom wanted and, if anything, that day was about her and my father and all the thanks we had for them bringing us into their lives.
The holidays have always been cause to reflect. More so than ever this year, as I stare down the first Thanksgiving without my mom. I remain so overwhelmed by all the kind words I received from so many strangers, when she passed earlier this year. As I sit back and stare at the lights of the Vegas strip, I am so thankful for the time I had with her, as well as my Father, before they left me. They gave me my last name and my nose and my chin, but more than that, they taught me the value of being kind to others and to never take life for granted. I think I tried to cherish every day before, but I know I do so now. So if you’ll humor me, I’d like to use this space to give thanks.
Thanks to Mom and Dad for making me who I am and always putting me and my brother before them. Thanks to Kelly for never giving up on us and always being my biggest fan. Thank you to my team who works their ass of for me and our users every day to try to beat the book. Thank you to my business partners who keep me grounded and teach me something every day. And thank you to my new family, KrackWins Nation. You have put your trust in me and I never forget that. We are just starting something amazing and I am thrilled you are along for the ride. Happy Thanksgiving to each of you and yours.
Let’s get into another winning week recap….
There was some good and there was some not so good.
Our sole PGA play was a winner (+1.75 units) and the NHL won again, going 2-1 (+1.13 units). NFL props went 2-4 (-1.8 units). The Bills covered easily as our only NFL play (+.5 units).
College basketball had a winning week, going 13-10 (totals 5-3 and sides 8-7) (+4.85 units). My NBA guys deserve a holiday bonus as they went 7-4 this week (+3.9 units), making them 17-6 in last two weeks.
College football went 2-2 for the week (-1 unit). This week marks the last real regular season games before conference championship games and then, one of my sweet spots for making money, the bowl season.
Add that up and you have another winning week – 29-21 (+9.33 units).
Enjoy your holiday and we will continue to be thankful for winners.
