The Human Condition: Sports Betting Picks Weekly Recap and Look Ahead 1.19.23

Jan 20, 2023 | Sports Betting Picks Weekly Recap, NBA, NCAAB, NCAAF, NFL, Sports Betting Tips

I’ve always thought that sports betting is a true reflection on the human condition. So many of us seek validation and allow our individual egos get in the way of success. You would not believe the number of bettors that would rather risk losing a bet made on their own opinion than win a bet, relying on someone else’s information. In fact, I have people close to me who have spent decades losing, seen my consistent success for years, and will still bet their opinion over mine.

NFL Wild Card Weekend

For an example, look no further than this past NFL Wild Card weekend. Every talking head said that the Bengals couldn’t lose to the Lamar Jackson-less Ravens and that the Bills would easily win against a Tua-less Dolphins. Well, we know both these teams did in fact advance….but take a little deeper look. The Bengals won on a miracle 98-yard fumble return as the Ravens were about to take a seven point lead – a 14 point instant turnaround. The Dolphins were one play and some horrible clock management away from beating the Bills with a third-string rookie QB.

Now…as we head into the Divisional Round, these same folks are thinking…”I killed it last weekend! I know how to beat these books!” They let ego get in the way. And this, my friends, is EXACTLY why sportsbooks stay open and EXACTLY why there are so many advantages for the true pros to jump on. If in a one sample size someone goes against me, and their side wins, in their head they think they have it figured out! God bless the human condition.

The public loves to bet overs and as such, had a good weekend in the NFL as every single game went over and Dallas/Tampa pushed depending on the number. We found some advantages in unders on our props so, not surprisingly, we went an unfortunate 2-10 (-8.9 units). I don’t know about you, but I feel like the higher ups at the NFL sent a message to their officials to let these offenses play, don’t call offensive holding especially on big plays, and give the fans what they want… more points! We look to bounce back this week on the four huge Divisional Round games. Bengals-Bills, Eagles-Giants and Cowboys-49ers??? Amazing…..you couldn’t ask for a better weekend. Let’s dive into my sports betting picks recap for this week.

Sports Betting Picks Weekly Recap

College Basketball continued to be a cash cow this season, posting another winning week (11-5, +10.9 units.) I know we have a lot of folks that signed up for football and are getting their first taste of betting hoops on a daily basis. They will quickly learn what our long time members have….that KrackWins has the advantage on these plays. The NBA had its first down week in several, finishing 2-3 (-1.2 units.)

Overall for the week, KrackWins Nation went 15-18 (+.8 units.) Always remember the betting percentage scale located on the KrackWins App. For example, I bet 2 times the amount on a college basketball game that I would an NFL prop. We recommend following this scale when betting different sports. While I hope you follow my scale and stick to my plays, I cannot fight that human condition so if you do add your own plays, just be smart with them. Can’t wait for the pigskin this weekend and cannot believe the Super Bowl is only three short weeks away. Enjoy it!
