I grew up during the 70’s in Keansburg, New Jersey – a lower income area near the beach. Every morning, I would wake up, rush to my bedroom window, and stare at the Jersey Shore Boardwalks that summoned me from only a few miles away. The carnival’s roller coaster rose above the skyline, a beacon to the fun and games below. I loved the thrill of inching up the roller coaster’s wooden tracks as they clicked one by one, inching the box I was in slowly skyward to the peak, pausing for a second, and then plummeting downward with my arms pointed to the sky.
Riding a roller coaster is the defining metaphor for a professional gambler. There are highs and lows and rushes of adrenaline that few other professions provide. Today, just as I sat prepared to discuss last week’s fantastic results, we were hit with the sobering news that college football will likely not go forward this fall. Deep down, we knew it was coming but had hoped for a last second Hail Mary. I do believe we will have college football in the spring, even if it means a much shorter season.
Thankfully, it appears that the NFL machine is going full steam ahead and plans on a full 16 game season. With the extension of the PGA season (including the Masters in November), the NBA Finals stretching into October, and the World Series taking place in November, there will be more than enough action to keep us busy (and profiting) through the end of the year.
Sports Betting Recap – 8/11/20
Last week’s action was a great ride for our members. What else can be said about our PGA work that continues to impress. Individual matchups went 2-1 and Daniel Berger Top 20 (+175) also cashed, leading to a dandy +6.3 units. Two golf matchups have already been sent out for this week’s Wyndham Championship with more on the way.
Basketball (NBA/WNBA) spent another successful week in the bubble, combining to go 4-3-1 (+1.3 units). The basketball bubble set up has been an unmitigated success so far (knock on wood), and I am psyched for the playoffs to start next week. KrackWins historically does well on the NBA’s second season as we pick our spots to play very carefully.
MLB hit a home run this week, going 10-4 (+5.8 units). Commissioner Manfred seems determined to complete the season and crown a World Series Champion. So, we continue to keep our fingers crossed that future outbreaks are kept to a minimum, and that the only thing that remains contagious is the cashing of our tickets.
Overall, KrackWins had a 17-8-1 week, winning 13.4 units. Let’s keep the good vibes going next week as we keep plowing ahead taking each day and piece of news as it comes. We are locked in, so let’s all stay safe, put our hands up, and go for the ride.
