What a great weekend of basketball to start the Madness! Baylor, Auburn, Kentucky, and Tennessee failed to make the second weekend. However, #1 seeds Arizona and Gonzaga survived big scares to stay alive. The West is all chalk as the top 4 seeds move on. While there may be some double digit seeds elsewhere, they are attached to real programs like Miami and Michigan. The only true Cinderella, St. Peter’s, will try to become the first 15 seed to make the Elite 8.
As you know, I don’t normally spend a lot of time physically in the sports book. The few exceptions are the Super Bowl and March Madness because you can learn a lot simply by watching the public. Casinos are built on losing bets, so when I watched people rushing to place wagers on Kentucky or Auburn in the second half, I knew where my money was going. Remember, Joe Public loses more than they win so don’t follow the herd. Let’s dive into my sports betting picks weekly recap.
Sports Betting Picks Weekly Recap
I hate to admit that KrackWins did not have the winning opening weekend we have been accustomed to in the past. We are going 12-15 on our Men’s NCAA, Women’s NCAA, and NIT picks (-5.6 units). A 2-3 NBA run (-1.6 units) left us 14-18 for the week overall (-7.2 units). While that number is disappointing (and the first losing opening weekend of March Madness I can recall), it’s all part of the grind. We are going to keep working to turn it around next week and beyond.
Live Wagering & March Madness
As anyone who follows me knows, I am a big fan of live wagering under the right circumstances. The NCAA Tournament is truly the most fertile ground there is for live wagering. With so many games, so many people betting, and so much line movement – there is money to be made if you do it the right way. Look at live betting as a “market capping” strategy. I will use a sharp book that I trust as a guide and then compare the live lines at all the mobile sports books to find discrepancies that I can take advantage of. This is the same mantra I’ve been preaching to KrackWins’ members for years. If bettors have multiple accounts, they can easily find a point or more of value. Always shop around for the best line. Over the course of a year, it can and will make a major difference in your year-end bankroll.
Remember….as the field shrinks, so do the advantages. Lines are tighter as the bookmakers have more information and less games to focus their attention on. Bet with your head, not over it and let’s all get the train heading back into the black this week.
