Sports Betting Picks Recap and Look-Ahead – 5/28/21

May 28, 2021 | Sports Betting Picks Weekly Recap, Golf, MLB, NBA, WNBA

Memorial Day Weekend perennially marks America’s official kick off to summer.  This year, people across the country are chomping at the bit to make up for last year and make this summer one to remember.  Last summer, Covid shut everything down in the sports world, leading us to look for possible advantages in the UFC (and their often ethically challenged judges).  A year later, the board is, thankfully, much different.

This past weekend, we were blessed with the PGA championship, Major League Baseball, the start of the NBA playoffs, and the tip off of the WNBA season.  With all these high profile events taking place at once, it is easy for bettors to get caught in the trap of forcing action because their eyeballs are watching all of it.  But as our members know, at KrackWins, we do the sharp thing and never take action because a game/event is on TV or is high-profile.  We only make plays when there is a genuine advantage to be had.  Period.

Golf completed its second major of the year at the PGA Championship with Phil Mickelson incredibly winning his sixth major at the age of 50!  Just as Lefty ruled the younger field, KrackWins dominated the event, going 5-1 (+6.95 units) including wins on a +155 and +165 underdog.  The PGA season continues with the Charles Schwab Challenge (formerly the Colonial) in Fort Worth, Texas.

The NBA Playoffs

The NBA Playoffs started with a bang.  As much as some people complained about it, the play-in format added real excitement and big viewership.  The Lakers/Golden State match-up was the highest rated game of the year by far.  For the first time in ages, it really feels like a bunch of teams could win it all.  Can the Lakers repeat as a 7-seed?  Will the Clippers finally vanquish their playoff demons?  Who is the best team in the East?  What will the Nets look like now that they are finally healthy?

KrackWins has two preseason futures that we are rooting for and will have regular action throughout the playoffs.  We went 6-6 the last two weeks in the NBA and should have been stronger based on the excellent closing line value we got.  For example, in Game 1 of the Nets/Celtics series, we took Over 226 early in the week.  The game closed at 233.5 – giving us an amazing 7.5 pts of value at tip without any injury news.  However, both teams shot terribly and the game was a dead under.  Some amateur bettors would be upset with the L, but sharp professionals know that you cannot position yourself better than 7.5 pts of value.  Strong closing line value provides an edge that always wins out over time.

The WNBA Season Kicks Off

The WNBA season started with some painful beats and a few flat-out wrong sides (1-5; -5.8 units).  I am unhappy but not concerned.  We always have been very successful in the WNBA on both sides and totals, so expect us to keep firing over the course of the relatively short WNBA season.  We recommend 1.25% of bankroll on these bets.  WNBA is one example of the KrackWins difference: we find consistent edge in smaller market sports year-round along with the majors.

In case you missed the regular season (which based on the ratings, everyone did), the NHL playoffs are in full swing.  I do not really watch any regular season games, but playoff hockey is just a different animal.  We went 1-0 on a series bet in the first round and plan on having more action throughout the playoffs.  We also have a very juicy 15-1 Stanley Cup future that we are cheering on. Now let’s dive into my sports betting picks recap.

Sports Betting Picks Recap and Look-Ahead

We have had a great start to the long MLB season – even with a run of bad beats.  KrackWins went 8-7-3 in baseball over the past two weeks to bring our season record to 26-18-6 (+8.8 units). Traditionally, my best baseball months are June and July, so I am very excited to crank out some winners this summer.  We also have found unique riches historically on the College Baseball Regionals and World Series, which run over the next month plus.  You may not watch the games, but you should see your bankroll swell with some padding from the collegiates.

Overall, we grinded out the last two weeks almost flat, going 21-20-4 (-1.1 units).  Please be sure to use the correct bankroll management with our Summer 2021 percentage scale.  It was sent to members earlier this week.  I am thrilled for a celebratory “rebound” summer filled with profits and hope that you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with loved ones.
