Bathing suits, hot dogs on the grill, and concerts in the park. Just a few hallmarks of the summer season that we welcome back with special appreciation this year, along with seeing fans cheering in full stadiums. The country is much closer to normal – and not a moment too soon. The joy we get from slapping five with your bleacher-mate after a home run or sitting around the pool with friends will likely not be taken for granted again. I hope the country moves forward more connected, safer, and with more gratitude, knowing how quickly things can change. Let’s dive into my sports betting picks recap for the last two weeks.
Sports Betting Picks Recap
Baseball games without fans really took the heart of the game away in my opinion. The inherent slow pace made crowd shots of kids holding their gloves while seated next to their dads an integral part of the viewing experience. Imagine how Mississippi State’s CWS championship would have felt without that sea of Bulldog fans there to celebrate it. Once more, the College Regionals, Super Regionals and World Series delivered great results, racking up a 65% winning percentage, and finishing with a 2-1 (+2 units) stretch.
The gambling gods took some revenge for our incredible run this first half of the baseball season, as we went 8-11-3 (-3.8 units). The All-Star game is around the corner, as we look to profit further in the second half. The US Open gave us Top 10 (Rory, +200) and Top 20 (Berger, +300) wins, while the individual matchups struggled the last two weeks, going a rare 2-6. Basketball went soft too, losing 5.1 units on WNBA and NBA plays. The NY Islanders won one and lost one (+.3 units). Overall, the two weeks delivered a 15-22-3 (-9 units) set back.
Looking Ahead This Summer
A bumpy little stretch, but they are inevitable. You may be tired of hearing it from me, but I will repeat it: never get too high and never get too low. That’s the mantra and the key to a being a long-term successful sports bettor. Staying unemotional and strictly disciplined is one of the hardest but most important things that a professional bettor does. Looking ahead, more golf, baseball, WNBA, and a little MMA is on the way and football season will be here before you know it.
Have a wonderful 4th of July, enjoy the summer, embrace being around people again and let us do the hard work grinding the boards for advantage plays.
